Acquah eyes Ghana call-up to allow Premier League move

Ghanaian midfielder Afriyie Acquah signed a five-year contract at the end of last season but is still keen on a move away from Italy. And by putting in some impressive performances for Palermo, he is hoping that he can cement a place in the Ghana national team, thus allowing him to get a work permit in England.
“Right now I can’t play in England because I’m not playing 70 percent of the games for my national team,” Acquah told Eurosport. “I want to play at Palermo for two or three years more before I play for a big club.”
The Sicilian squad is known for investing in bright talents and selling them off for high prices. Most recently, Javier Pastore moved to PSG and Edison Cavani moved to Napoli. Acquah has already made nine appearances for Palermo this season and will be hoping that he can follow in the footsteps of the former Rosanero starlets.
“My agent told me four or five clubs wanted me this season, including Napoli and Rangers, but at the moment I’m staying put,” he said. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
