Adriano named as flop of the year

Roma’s Adriano has been handed the ignominious Bidone D’Oro award to confirm him as Serie A’s biggest flop this year.
The mock award, handed out annually by Rai Radio, has now been won three times by Adriano, who has struggled to find his feet since joining Roma this season.
He also won the award in 2006 and 2007 during his well documented personal problems whilst at Inter.
Rivaldo won the first award in 2003, followed by Nicola Leggrotaglie, Christian Vieri, Ricardo Quaresma and last year, Felipe Melo.
This year, Adriano beat Juventus’ Amauri and Milan’s Ronaldinho to the tongue-in-cheek honour.
Adriano has been linked with a return to Brazil following his poor form so far this season, but Roma president Rosella Sensi has denied that she will sell him.
“The Brazilian is and will remain a Roma player,” she categorically stated despite Coach Claudio Ranieri’s suggestion that Adriano should leave if he is unhappy.
Brazilian clubs Palmeiras and Corinthians have confirmed their interest in the 28-year-old striker, who played for Flamengo last season. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
