Adriano’s agent denies Flamengo return

Adriano’s agent has denied that the Roma striker will be heading back to Brazil at the end of the season to re-join Flamengo, despite the player claiming that a deal was already done.
This morning Adriano told Brazilian journalists that he would end his Roma nightmare in June, when he would have a third stint at his boyhood club Flamengo. However, his agent has denied these comments and claimed Adriano will stay at Roma.
Gilmar Rinaldi said: “People have been calling me from Italy since five in the morning. Adriano didn’t mean to say these things. He has promised [Roma owner] Rosella Sensi that he will get back to being the Emperor at Roma.”
A second agent, Roberto Calenda, who was involved in Adriano’s transfer to Roma last summer, has also suggested there is no chance of a return to Flamengo. He said: “I categorically deny the story of a return to Flamengo in June.
“The site that published this interview is the same that we already quarrelled with in the summer for the diffusion of reports that were totally invented.”

Adriano, 28, is expected to return to Rome tomorrow after spending Christmas in Brazil, which prompted these rumours to start. He was delayed due to passport issues for his son and ill health of a family member.
