Agent: ‘Tevez is likely to stay at City’

The agent of Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has told England’s Daily Star that his client is likely to stay at the Eastlands’ club this summer and will bring his family over shortly.
Tevez had announced his intention to quit City last season and had cited family issues as the primary reason for wanting to move away, however, he later changed his mind and guided the Sky Blues to the Champions League.
Since then the Argentine has indicated in a few interviews that he is not entirely happy in Manchester and could consider a move. But now, his agent, Kia Joorbchian, has indicated Tevez might not move at all.
“I don’t think that speculation about Carlos moving is fair at the moment. I don’t think money is a consideration. Maybe it’s a case of his family coming over to him. That’s something he’s trying to sort out. I’m sure in the next week he will sort the family issue out.”
These comments would dampen reports in the peninsula that a swap between Tevez and Inter’s Samuel Eto’o was taking shape. Joorbchian further explained the motivations for the 27-year old to stay at City.
“Carlos has always had a goal. The goal was that City needed to get into the Champions League and win a trophy, and they won a trophy and achieved that goal. If you look at the team they are going to get stronger and stronger and, if Carlos stays, they would be my favourite to win the title.
“I’m sure that will be a factor in his mind and, the fact that City fans have embraced him, will count for a lot along with his great relationship with the supporters. I think all these factors will be positives for him to stay. Carlos has not made any decision to move. We have not asked to leave the club.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
