Agnelli terms Calciopoli a ridiculous procedure

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli has stoked the fire of the Calciopoli debate once again by terming it as a meaningless procedure. The Bianconeri patron still feels aggrieved by the punishments handed down and made his feelings clearly known at a meeting of the club.
“Everyone knows how I feel about Calciopoli, namely that it was a ridiculous procedure. The lawyers told me that they were even denied access to all the papers. Calciopoli is a part of our identity and needs to be clarified as fast as possible.”
Agnelli has in the past repeatedly stated his desire to reopen the case and consider reassigning the two Scudetti which were stripped away from Juventus. Recently, he made a special appeal to the FIGC President Giancarlo Abete to look into the matter and move things along.
“In recent years we have abused the patience of our fans, and we are forced to await the decisions of ordinary justice. If only it were possible to accelerate these proceedings…”, he declared passionately at the meeting.
Agnelli also discussed the team’s current situation and their objectives for the January transfer window and the season as a whole: “We have a team of strong players, and my principle is to encourage them to do even better. In January, if there are any significant market opportunities we will definitely pluck them.”
The President added that the priority for the ‘new’ Juventus remained getting the team back into shape and contesting for titles after a rather barren past three seasons. “It was an unfortunate period in our history. The last season was particularly painful, so we bet on Marotta and together we have accepted the challenge to restore the rightful place of Juve.”
The Bianconeri are second in the table six points behind Milan but may have the chance to close the gap this week as the Rossoneri face a tricky test against Roma while Juve travel to Chievo. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
