Allegri hails ‘crucial’ win over Bari

Milan Coach Massimiliano Allegri was keen to make clear that the 3-0 Coppa Italia win against Bari was key to Milan’s Scudetto chances while speaking to the press after last night’s game.
Milan’s dip in form has coincided with Inter’s renaissance and the ex Cagliari boss was glad to see this victory after seeing only one in his last four games allowing their city rivals to close the gap in the race for the Scudetto.
He said: “It was important to get through to the next round, but also to get back to winning ways, The Italian Cup is a competition that we want to do well in and the boys played an excellent game.”
Allegri also addressed other issues including the knock to Andrea Pirlo, who was just returning from an injury lay-off and was forced to leave the field after only featuring for 20 minutes as a substitute.
“It doesn’t seem to be anything too serious, but we’ll make a proper evaluation with the doctors on Friday.”
The Milan Coach was also pleased with Antonio Cassano, his first start for the club saw him make a good impression in the 3-0 win. “I didn’t think he would do so well given his fitness, but he put himself about and made sacrifices for the team.”
Milan face Cesena this weekend and will have noted from Inter’s mid-week game that this will not be a walk in the park. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
