Allegri: “No dramas about Palermo loss”

Milan Coach Massimiliano Allegri has claimed that his side will not panic after the unexpected loss to Palermo last night and the Rossoneri will take the defeat in their stride and move on.
Milan crashed to a 1-0 loss at the Renzo Barbera following an early goal by Dorin Goian, a result that could see nearest rivals Inter close to within two points of the leaders with the Derby to come next.
However, Allegri was not losing sweat over Milan’s first defeat in Serie A since the start of the year, and he believes that as long as the team is leading the standings, they can feel confident.
“A defeat can occur, there are no dramas about this. In the first half, we failed to impose ourselves especially in the final third. But after the break, the players gave the reaction that was expected of them.
“We did quite well, but failed to finish off our chances. I repeat, a loss is tolerable here, but it would have been better to have avoided it. Let’s see tomorrow what Inter and Napoli can manage.”

Milan were missing Zlatan Ibrahimovic for this game who has been banned for three matches following his elbow on Marco Rossi in the game against Bari last week, but Allegri stated the Swede’s absence can not be an excuse.
“It makes little sense to talk about his absence from the game. Tonight, we could have and should have done more. We haven’t done so and we must analyze the reasons for this defeat.”
Milan’s defeat here, could see both their closest rivals in Inter and Napoli cut the gap down to the top to within three points, but the ex-Cagliari man suggests that his team is not worried about the competition.
“We are in the same mood as before, it must be remembered that we have been leading the standings for a long time now. Milan could win the championship before the game against and we most certainly can after this defeat as well.”
The teams go into the international break after this weekend and when the Serie A calendar resumes next, Milan will face Inter in what many expect to be a title-decider, but Allegri feels that such will not be the case.
“These two weeks will serve to loosen the tension. The championship is long and there are still eight games to be played. The derby will not decide the championship although it will be an important game.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
