Allegri: “Scudetto more important than Derby”

Rossoneri Coach Massimiliano Allegri has tried to ease the pressure on his players ahead of the Milan derby insisting that the Scudetto is more important that the derby and that Inter will be the ones desperate to get a result.
The two Milanese rivals clash on April 2 and this Derby della Maddonina will be one of the most crucial ones in recent memory as Milan lead Inter by two points at the top of the table.
However, Allegri believes that the Nerazzurri will have added pressure on them as they are the ones chasing Milan and that his team is focussed on winning the Scudetto this season.
“I think this is the most important derby in recent years, but we must be calm. I think this game, this derby is more important for Inter in terms of league standing than for us. In the end what counts, is to win the Scudetto.
“We have been leading the Championship for 21 rounds, so we shouldn’t be intimidated about playing this game. Although, when the season kicked-off Inter were the clear favourites. If we are ahead now, it is because we deserve to be.”

Allegri will be forced to shuffle his formation for this game after the loss to Palermo and last week and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is out despite his suspension being reduced from three to two games.
“We have the third best attack in the league, at this time we also have the best defense, and thus are not at all worried. There are times during the season, when the attack has been unable to score.
“I am convinced of our ability to score even without Ibra. I know that two of Cassano, Pato and Robinho will start. The important thing is to play like we have done so far, minimize the errors and I am confident that the attack has great potential.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
