Allegri: “We wanted to win for Cassano”

Milan Coach Massimilliano Allegri spoke of his lament as his side were held to a draw against BATE Borisov last night leaving i Rossoneri in a difficult position to claim the prized first place in the group.
Allegri speaking to the UEFA.com after his sides difficult encounter in Belarus was in a philosophical mood. “It is typical in football. If you don’t kill off games when you can then anything can happen. A free kick, a corner and you can always concede an equaliser.”
The Tuscan also held a disappointment his side could not gain a victory in the honour of illness stricken Antonio Cassano. “We wanted to win for numerous reasons, not least because we wanted to dedicate it to Cassano. It is a pity we didn’t.”
