Amauri’s future has finally been resolved as he has agreed to leave Juventus and join Parma on loan for the rest of the season.
The 30-year-old striker has had plenty of options since Juve acknowledged their willingness to let him leave on a temporary basis. Amauri had already turned down offers from Fulham and West Brom because he wanted to remain in Italy.
The player’s wish has been granted and Parma have themselves a considerable coup just an hour before the transfer deadline.
It was expected that Palermo would take Amauri on loan for a second stint with the club, but despite confirming their interest they never followed it up with an official bid.
Amauri has now agreed a six-month stay at Parma where he will partner the veteran Hernan Crespo up-front and hope to score his first league goal of the season.
It will be Amauri’s second stint at Parma after a brief stay 11 years ago. However, he never played for the club as a 19-year-old, and now returns with a much higher profile.
It is doubtful that Parma would be able to finance a permanent deal for Amauri at the end of the season so his long-term future is still unclear.
