Amauri to make Aston Villa move?

Corriere della Sera have claimed that Aston Villa are a shock contender to sign Amauri, because Juventus have finally run out of patience with the out-of-sorts striker.
Amauri was rumoured to be leaving in the summer after failing to justify the €22 million fee that Juventus paid Palermo in 2008. However, sporting director Beppe Marotta chose to keep faith with the big-money striker who has struggled for goals since moving to Turin.
Having failed to impress this season too, Amauri has now sustained a knee injury that will keep him out for six weeks. It is believed that upon his return, he will be sold in January and Villa are a possible destination.
The Bianconeri are resigned to cutting their losses and accepting a fee of approximately €8 million from the Premier League side. The Brazilian-born Azzurri international has played his whole professional career in Italy and it remains to be seen whether he will favour a move to England at the age of 30.
