Aquilani linked with Viola move

Liverpool’s Alberto Aquilani has been linked with a move to Fiorentina this summer, after club president Andrea Della Valle made it clear that he is looking to replace the outgoing Riccardo Montolivo.
The ex-Roma and Juventus player is considered to be Fiorentina’s primary objective for their summer transfers, and are now looking to turn their interest into something concrete.
Aquilani and his agent have both declared that they are more than happy to remain in Liverpool this season and fight for his place in the first-team, however it is known that Aquilani would love a return to Italy and Serie A football.
Gazzetto dello Sport reported this morning that a fee has been agreed between the two clubs and they are now waiting for Aquilani to start negotiating personal terms with La Viola.
The 27-year old midfielder could find it difficult to fit in Kenny Dalglish’s first-team plans as the Reds have just completed the signings of Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing and already have Lucas Leiva, Steven Gerrard and Raul Meireles all playing in similar positions.
