Atalanta look set to follow up on their interest for Cagliari central defender Michele Canini.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Orobici will offer €1.5 million plus the co-ownership of striker Matteo Ardemagni.
Should the move for the 26-year-old go ahead, it would represent a return to Bergamo for Canini.
A product of the renowned Atalanta youth system, he never made a first team appearance for the club after a loan spell at Sambenedettese in 2004/05 and his sale to the Rossoblu a season later.
Canini, also linked with Genoa, has become an integral part of the Isolani defence and last season featured on 35 occasions, scoring twice.
Atalanta, who were Serie B champions in 2010/11, had the equal-second best defence in the league and have strengthened the backline with the addition of Stefano Lucchini.
They were interested in Andrea Raggi but appear to have settled on Canini as they attempt to remain in Serie A.
