Ballardini or Zoratto to replace Casiraghi for Italy U-21s

Italian daily the Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Pierluigi Casiraghi will be sacked as Italy U-21 manager, and replaced by either Davide Ballardini or Daniele Zoratto.
Casiraghi’s Azzurrini embarrassingly lost 3-0 to Belarus recently, thus failing to qualify for the European Championships or 2012 Olympics. As a result a change in management is imminent, with Ballardini or Zoratto the leading contenders.
Arrigo Sacchi is in charge of finding a new manager for the U-21s, and has short-listed current U-19s manager Zoratto, who formerly played for Parma. Sacchi is also said to be a big fan of Ballardini, who once managed Cagliari, Palermo and Lazio.
It was rumoured that Gianfranco Zola or Alessandro Costacurta could get the job, but Sacchi wants a more experienced manager to succeed Casiraghi.
The FIGC hope to have a manager in place by November 17 when the Azzurrini next play. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
