Balotelli: “I want to be the main man for Italy”

Mario Balotelli has given Azzurri coach Cesere Prandelli a boost ahead of next week’s Euro 2012 qualifiers. Speaking on the eve of Manchester City’s game against Juventus in the Europa League, Balotelli told Corriere dello Sport that he is ready to give his all for his adopted country. “It pleases me that Prandelli want’s me in the squad. Playing for your country is one of the most important things in a player’s career. At the moment I have only played in friendly games but I want to be the main protagonist at Euro 2012 and then the World Cup in 2014”.
The controversial young striker has returned to the clinic in Pavia to continue recuperation on his right knee alongside his specialist professor Franco Benazzo. Balotelli was also asked about a possible return to Serie A but refused to comment to reporters.
