Benitez confident of Inter’s return to form

Rafa Benitez is delighted with his Inter team that has now recovered almost all its injured players and believes that they will be firing on all cylinders soon. The Nerazzurri have been plagued by injuries all season long but at the training camp in Abu Dhabi most of the squad has returned to action.
“I am very happy, because I have options. All the players are working at one hundred per cent. It is true, the group is happy, the environment is very positive ahead of this game. And for this reason I am confident”, started the Spaniard at the press conference ahead of Inter’s clash with Seongnam Ilhwa of South Korea.
The Club World Cup gives Inter a chance to close what would be a fantastic season for the team despite the recent dip in form. If Benitez’s team do manage to win, it will be their fifth trophy of the season something President Massimo Moratti has expressed his desire to desperately achieve.
“Clearly we are here to win and we must win the first game, it is the most important. Today everyone carried out an excellent session. Everyone is ready to play, but we will decide tomorrow. I watched Milito score in training and I thought to myself: we are strong.”
The Spanish tactician will no doubt be glad to have his full team back with him after a long time but he is not taking their relatively unknown opponents for granted either. Benitez complimented Seongnam for their achievements in the Asian Champions League and believes that Inter will have to be on their guard.
“Our opponents are a side that has had to do a lot to get here. Tactically they are well organised, they have quality and intensity, and they are good on the ball and off it. We have studied them as a side, not just some individuals, even though they can rely on the quality and experience of some foreigners.”
Inter will go into the Christmas break after the Club World Cup and resume their season only in the New Year. January brings the winter transfer window and Carlos Tevez’s declaration that he wants to quit Manchester City has alerted most major clubs in Europe.
“Before such an important game it is not correct to talk about players that aren’t here. I am happy with the players I have and have faith in them”, commented Benitez on the Nerazzurri’s possible interest in the Argentine. Inter will kick-off their game against the South Koreans at 1700 GMT. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
