Benitez describes Milito’s Ballon d’Or snub as “strange”

Inter coach Rafael Benitez has described Diego Milito’s exclusion from the 23-man Ballon d’Or shortlist as “strange”.
Milito who was outstanding for the Nerazzurri last season has been overlooked by those at FIFA who have primarily focused on World Cup performers.
The Argentine scored vital goals at the conclusion of last season where his goal against Siena clinched the clubs 18th Scudetto and also netted a brace in the Champions League Final – where he was subsequently named the forward and player of the tournament.
His achievements have seemingly been ignored despite his ravishing success in a spectacular debut campaign. His coach Benitez is baffled by the snub.
“It’s strange, really strange.” he said.
“He even won the trophy as the best player in the Champions League. We’re all surprised.”
It seems as if his lack of game time in South Africa during the World Cup has seriously counted against him. A number of cameo roles for his country have taken the attention away from his feats of last season. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
