Benitez plays down claims of dressing room unrest at Inter

Inter Coach Rafael Benitez has rubbished reports of discontent within his squad, after a stop-start beginning to the club’s Serie A campaign.
Talking at Tuesday’s Champions League press conference ahead of the tie with Werder Bremen on Wednesday, Benitez said: “Are we tense, anxious? Journalists always have to look for something – we are Inter, a great team, a great club, and everyone talks about us. Therefore when we win people look for something, and even more when we lose. But we have the right mentality, and we are a united team.”
Talk of dressing-room problems were encouraged during Inter’s 1-0 defeat to Roma, when full-back Cristian Chivu was reported to angrily shout towards the bench “If it keeps going like this, then I’m going, either you make them run or take me off.” Benitez played down the incident today, blaming tactical differences for the confrontation. “Who was right? He said one thing, about tactics, although it probably wasn’t the best way to go about it. It’s all sorted out now.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
