Benitez wants Agger at Inter

Corriere dello Sport claims that Inter boss Rafa Benitez will look to his former club Liverpool to sign Daniel Agger in the January transfer window.
Inter lost first-choice centre-back Walter Samuel to a long-term cruciate ligament injury recently, and are therefore in the market for a replacement. To partner Lucio in defence there is only veteran duo Ivan Cordoba and Marco Materazzi, as Cristian Chivu is primarily used at left-back.
Benitez has identified Agger to fill this void, as he was a fan of the Danish stopper who he signed for Liverpool in 2006. New Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson hasn’t utilised Agger as much as his predecessor Benitez, and the player could possibly be allowed to leave.
Agger, 25, is valued at around £8 million by his current club. Inter could look to make a move in the next transfer window, or alternatively have been linked with Genoa’s Andrea Ranocchia. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
