Brescia sack Iachini and appoint Beretta

Brescia have officially named Mario Beretta as their new coach after Beppe Iachini was dismissed earlier today.
Beretta, 51, has signed a deal until the end of the season and will be charged with leading Brescia to Serie A survival. They are currently 19th and haven’t won for 11 games, and last weekend’s 3-0 loss to Milan was the final nail in the coffin for Iachini.
Brescia sporting director Gianluca Nani claimed that the change in management was a necessity. He said: “We are saddened to lose [Iachini], but we had no other option.
“Iachini is paying the price for the results which, up to a point, are what matter in football. It was a difficult decision to take because Iachini did some great work here and we recognise that.”
Beretta has experience in Serie A having coached Chievo, Parma and Siena in the past. His most recent job was with Greek club PAOK, but he was fired in the summer just a month after arriving after poor pre-season results. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
