Cagliari mourns death of former coach Giorgi

Former Cagliari coach Bruno Giorgi has died in a clinic in Reggio Emilia aged 69. Giorgi will be best remembered as the man who gave Roberto Baggio his big break at Vicenza. Despite coaching numerous other clubs around the peninsula, it was his achievements with the Rossoblu that he will forever be remembered for including a memorable Uefa cup run in 1993/94 that culminated with the Sardinians reaching the semi-final stage.
He also ensured the club’s top-flight status in his final season before retirement in 1995/96. The club put out a special tribute on its official website announcing that “today sees the sad passing of our former coach Bruno Giorgi after an incurable illness. He always wanted the best for this club and he always gave his best for this club. Goodbye Mister”. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
