Catania CEO insists Maxi Lopez will stay in Italy and backs former Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic

Catania CEO Pietro Lo Monaco has insisted that star striker Maxi Lopez will remain in Serie A for the foreseeable future.
Lo Monaco had admitted earlier on in the week that it will be highly unlikely for the club to ward off interest from bigger clubs who are preparing to submit concrete offers for the Argentine.
He does believe however that the 26-year old will remain in the peninsula – but is also surprised that former Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic hasn’t enquired to lure the 26-year old to his current employers Fiorentina.
Reported by Calciomercato, he said. “Maxi Lopez will remain in Italy but no one from Fiorentina has ever asked about the player, even after Vargas (who left Catania for the Viola in 2008) we were never asked about any player of Catania.”
“This has surprised me, because after Mihajlovic was installed as their Coach, and being former Coach of Catania, I would expect the demand for some of our players.”
The CEO also showed his support for Mihajlovic who he dearly respects after his heroics in his solitary season with the Rossazzurri where he guided them to a respectful mid-table finish.
He is certain that the Serbian will steady the Viola ship and the club must bide their team.
“In a short span, he can float Fiorentina to calmer waters – taking over from Prandelli isn’t easy” he stated. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
