Catania in press blackout

After last Sunday’s defeat in Genoa, under fire Catania Coach Marco Giampaolo has ordered a press blackout until after next weekend’s game against Fiorentina. The Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the team will prepare for Wednesday evening’s Coppa Italia game against Varese behind closed doors. The club’s president Antonio Pulvirenti is thought to be furious with the way his team performed at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris last time out, and that has heaped pressure on coach Giampaolo to obtain a positive result against the Serie B side tomorrow.
There was some good news for the beleaguered coach as two of his most talented players returned to the squad on Monday. Argentinean midfielder Pablo Ledesma and Japanese striker Takayuki Morimoto have joined up with the rest of the players for training and it seems that both will play a part in Wednesday evening’s game.
