Cavasin given dreaded ‘vote of confidence’ by Sampdoria

Sampdoria’s Alberto Cavasin has been given the much dreaded ‘vote of confidence’ despite his team’s poor run of form. In Italy, an assurance from a chairman is usually a precursor to a Coach’s sacking in the weeks that follow.
Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone only recently sacked Domenico Di Carlo earlier this month and replaced him with Alberto Cavasin. The replacement has not had the desired effects so far and results have continued to plunge the il Blucerchiati desperately close to the relegation zone.
Eurosport reported that the Sampdoria President had said that, “We are continuing with Cavasin until the end of the season, even though the team has not reacted. I spoke to Cavasin and it was a positive dialogue.”
The Genovese club have struggled since the sale of Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini and have struggled for form ever since their departures. The next round sees Sampdoria travel to Chievo in a game which now represents a relegation dogfight.
The final fixtures for the season see Cavasin’s men face a tough run in including games against Milan, Palermo, Roma and a huge derby match against Genoa on the 8th of May which is also a must win. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
