Cesare Prandelli: I want an Italy with the eye of the tiger

After his side’s goalless draw in Belfast on Friday night, National team coach Cesare Prandelli has given a clear indication of how intends to develop his Italian side. Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, the former Fiorentina tactician was explaining his thoughts behind the squad’s new attacking policy: “this is not a revolution, I want my players to understand that this is my way of playing the game, I want my team to have the eye of the tiger”.
Prandelli also warned against complacency ahead of Tuesday evening’s game against Serbia in Genoa: “I would have preferred to have played a team that has not been injured”, announced the coach after the Serb’s surprise home defeat by Estonia, “a team that is wounded will always try that little bit extra in their next game to make amends for a bad result”
