Cesena sack Giampaolo after Parma loss

Cesena have sacked their manager, Marco Giampaolo, after losing 2 – 0 away to Parma.
Cesena’s president, Igor Campedelli, broke the news to the embattled Abruzzo-born manager at the end of the game. He later told La Gazzetta Dello Sport: “It wasn’t a gut decision, but we haven’t thought of any replacements yet. We haven’t thought of anyone, really, because we had retained our faith in Giampaolo, now we will take opinion and seek to communicate the name of our new coach.”
Campedelli added that: “It’s a change that I had to make to give fighting spirit and strength to the team and we hope that it serves to raise them in a hurry.”
Names being linked with the vacant position include Genoa’s ex-coach Davide Ballardini and current Brescia coach Giuseppe Iachini.
