Champions League Draw: Inter to face Schalke

The UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw was conducted today at Nyon and Italy’ sole standing survivor Inter would be pleased to have drawn German side Schalke.
The German side have been struggling in the Bundesliga with the team all the way down in 10th spot. However, they have been impressive in the Champions League having topped their group.
Inter will play the first leg at home at the San Siro on 5/6 April and the second leg will take place in Germany on 12/13 April. If the Nerazzurri are to win they will face the winners of the Chelsea Vs Manchester United in the semis.
Other games will see Tottenham Hotspur take on former Inter Coach Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid and Barcelona are to face Shakhtar Donetsk and this could set up another ‘El Clasico’ in the last four.
Raul has been hugely responsible for getting Schalke to this stage commented on drawing Inter: “I am relishing this opportunity to face Inter. It will be difficult for us to get to the semis but we will obviously try our best.”
Inter’s International Ambassador and former player Luis Figo also talked of the draw and said the Nerazzurri will be pleased with having avoided any of the big guns.
“I think overall we can be pleased with drawing Schalke. You have to respect all opposition but facing Schalke suits us, particularly as their playing style is one that we are used to.”
The final will be played in London at Wembley on May 28th. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
