Chievo sign Slovenian starlets

Chievo have added to the ever increasing number of Slovenian players in Serie A by signing two teenagers who will arrive at the start of January.
Denis Sme, 16, is a right-back who will arrive from Rudar Velenje and Puck Matej, 17, is a winger signed from Aluminij. The duo will only cost Chievo a total of €250,000 from their respective clubs.
Chievo were also interested in another Slovenian teenager, 19-year-old Robert Beric, but he has opted to join Udinese instead.
The Flying Donkeys were no doubt keen on signing Sme and Matej partly because of the high-profile impact of their countryman Josip Ilicic at Palermo.
Since joining in the summer, Ilicic’s form has seemingly paved the way for further Slovenians to play in Serie A. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
