Conte: Juve need to be more cynical

Antonio Conte rued Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Cagliari on Sunday, a match in which they let the lead slip.
The result does, however, take Juve clear at the top of Serie A, following Milan’s derby loss against Inter.
Mirko Vucinic was on target early on but the hosts failed to put the game away and Cagliari equalised shortly after half-time.
“We started with an excellent drive, we immediately went in front, played well and had other occasions to double our lead,” Conte told journalists after the match.
“But in certain cases we need to be more cynical and put the game to bed. Unfortunately we conceded right at the start of the second half, and then had chances we could have made more of. I’m only disappointed about the result, I can’t complain about the players’ work rate.”
Conte noted he was not too fussed with the 18 match unbeaten record, the longest undefeated streak in the club’s history, but stressed no match is easy.
“I know that we’ve set the club’s unbeaten record. It means that we’re doing something good, even if I’d prefer to win something important as opposed to establishing records. We’ll go on knowing that we’ll run into difficulties, there are never easy games as far as we’re concerned – such as the one in Lecce, who today went and won in Florence. We know that there’s still a lot to do.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
