The agent of Genoa’s Domenico Criscito has played down speculation regarding Bayern Munich’s interest in the defender, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Criscito’s displays at left-back for Genoa saw him become first-choice in Italy’s World Cup team, and he has continued his good form this season. As a result, several of Europe’s big clubs have been credited with an interest, including the German giants.
Criscito’s agent Andrea D’Amico said: “His name is often associated with Bayern, but I have never been contacted by the Bavarian club. He’s doing really well. He is an important footballer and now a mature one too.”
The 23-year-old started his career at Genoa at the age of 16, before being signed by Juventus as a prospect for the future. After only a handful of appearances, he returned to Genoa on loan in 2006, before the Rossoblu signed him permanently two years ago for a second stint.
