De Canio furious as history repeats itself

After seeing his side concede two late goals to Bologna in Saturday evening’s early game at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, Lecce coach Luigi De Canio was furious with referee Danile Orsato after he allowed Bologna’s first goal to stand. De Canio told the Corriere dello Sport that: “Marco Di Vaio was offside for their first goal, it is evident that we never have any luck at this stadium”.
De Canio was referring to a game played against Bologna in May 2009 when a dubious goal from Di Vaio was allowed to stand. A decision that proved vital in Lecce’s relegation. It looked as though the Puglian’s had done enough to earn vital point on Saturday evening but with just six minutes to go Di Vaio struck and then just a minute later Henry Gimenez sealed all three points for the home side.
