Defeat bitter for Inter

Andrea Poli called Inter’s shock home defeat at the hands of Novara “very bitter” but says the Nerazzurri will attempt to turn their fortunes around.
Andrea Caracciolo’s lone goal ensured Novara won for the second time against Inter this season, while keeping just their second clean sheet in their Serie A return.
Novara deflected multiple Inter attacking forays and had to play out the final ten minutes with ten men when Ivan Radovanovic was sent off.
“A very bitter defeat, although I think the team played well. It’s difficult to play against a team that defend with eleven men behind the ball and then play long balls out of defence; things have been going badly for us recently and just one shot at our defence becomes a goal,” said Poli to Inter Channel.
The ex-Sampdoria player appeared to be fouled inside the penalty area just before half time but appeals were waved away.
“We mustn’t blame anyone. The referee said it wasn’t a penalty and I accept his decision.”
Inter looked to be back on track after seven straight wins but have not won in four matches, picking up just a single point.
“We definitely want to turn things around. We tried today but we didn’t manage it, losing to the team on the bottom of the table, and that hurts. We have to get things back together and take off again immediately, and looking at the other teams we can still do it. We are a team that can and must do well.
“Tomorrow we have to start over again after a bad defeat, a very bad one, but as I said, when things are going badly, you have to analyse the errors in the knowledge that seven victories on the trot didn’t come about by chance.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
