After seeing his team beat Catania on Sunday evening in Sicily, Juventus coach Luigi Del Neri was confident his team could mount a serious title challenge.
Speaking to Sky Italia after the game, the 60-year-old tactician stated: “With this result, we have responded to the victories of Milan and Lazio.”
He continued to praise his players stating that: “We have demonstrated a good fighting spirit tonight, my squad showed great intensity.”
The Bianconeri overcame stubborn resistance from the home side to run out 3-1 winners with Fabio Quagliarella grabbing two of the goals.
Alessandro Del Piero came on as a second-half substitute to notch up his 250th win in Serie A for the Old Lady.
Afterwards, he told Sky Italia that: “I was glad to help the team to victory, now we must keep up this level of performance from here to the end of the season”.
