Del Piero close to decision on Juventus future

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has confirmed that he is close to deciding on his future beyond this summer with the Bianconeri. The 36-year old is out of contract at the end of the season having spent 18 trophy laden years with the club.
Since joining the Turin giants in 1993, Del Piero has gone on to become Juve’s leading goalscorer and appearance maker. Talks are on-going regarding a new deal and Del Piero admits that he wants to remain with the Old Lady.
Discussing the possibility of extending his stay with Juve, the World Cup winner told Sky Italia: “Things depend on the two parties. I think everything will be decided in a short time and there will be an announcement from the club.
“There is open and clear dialogue but at this moment anything can happen. I am not certain of staying, otherwise I would already have a contract, but my priority is certainly Juventus.
“They have been my history and I don’t think I’d be able to play for another Italian side, so I hope to find an agreement to stay.”

The striker also revealed that he hope’s Francesco Totti resists a transfer away from Roma and end his playing days with the Claudio Ranieri’s men.
