Del Piero congratulates Itay and offers support to Abidal

Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero has congratulated Italy on its 150 years of unification but also taken time out to offer support to Barcelona’s Eric Abidal who was operated for a liver tumour yesterday.
The Bianconeri talisman also offered condolences to people of Japan and Vjačeslav Malafeev, the Zenit St. Petersburg goalkeeper, whose wife passed away while he was playing for the club against FC Twente in the Europa League.
“Today is a day to celebrate for Italy and Torino – the first capital of unified Italy. The city is full of windows lined with the Tricolore to commemorate the 150 years and that is a great emotion to see.
“Unfortunately, there are some things that make me a bit sad like the news coming from Japan and what is happening with a couple of my colleagues, and I would ask you to share a thought with me for them.
“Eric Abidal, the Barcelona defender and French national, was diagnosed with liver cancer and will undergo surgery. But he knows how to fight and is accustomed to do so on the pitch.
“He was a great opponent in the final in Berlin with the shirt of France, but today I join his teammates in wishing good luck and hope to see him again soon recovered and in the field.
“I was also very moved by what happened to Vyacheslav Malafeev, the Zenit goalkeeper we faced in the Champions League three years ago, and the Russian national.
“Malafeev has suffered a terrible mourning the death of his wife while he was away for the race of Champions League against FC Twente. Really there are no words. My condolences go to him.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
