Del Piero renews Juventus deal

Juventus have confirmed on their website Alessandro Del Piero has put pen to paper on a new contract.
The captain’s deal was set to expire in June, with his extension now running to June 30th, 2012. The contract was signed at the new Juventus stadium, where Pinturicchio met with Bianconeri President Andrea Agnelli.
Del Piero told of his joy at signing the renewal: “I’m happy. I will stay here for the next season and therefore it’s a great day for me. But tomorrow we’ll immediately return to focusing on Monday’s game against Chievo. I will continue to wear this shirt with the same desire and passion. Andrea Agnelli would like to see me as a winner in the new stadium? In the meantime I’m happy to be able to play. I also hope to be able to succeed. Or else it’ll take another contract…”
Agnelli noted his long past with Del Piero and the road taken to this extension: “This signature has an important meaning. Alessandro and I have known each other for a long time; we’ve practically grown up together. In these years he’s gone through injury and revival, he encapsulates the true Juve spirit and will take it into the new stadium.
“It’s been simple; we met in January with the promise to speak again at the end of the season. Alessandro told me he feels he wants to continue to be the captain of Juventus and wishes to win another Scudetto in the new stadium. These words made me happy; today’s signature is just a physical action. Del Piero can still give a lot on the pitch and send a message of the club’s values to his team mates. He will also help us a lot next season, which for us will be one of redemption.”

Season 2011/12 will be Del Piero’s 19th with the Turin giants. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
