Del Piero talks stall

Alessandro Del Piero’s attempts to renew his contract with Juventus have hit another stalling point as there is now a disagreement in the player’s prospective salary.
The club legend’s current deal expires in the summer and Juve have only recently announced that they intend to extend his stay, after his future was previously in doubt.
It is thought that the two parties have agreed on a 12-month extension to the 36-year-old’s deal, but they are still some way apart in finalising his wages.
The player’s brother and agent Stefano Del Piero held talks with Juve general manager Beppe Marotta yesterday in an attempt to thrash out an agreement, but after two hours of discussion almost nothing was solved.
Marotta is said to be offering somewhere in the range of €1 million a year in wages, with various bonuses included. However, Del Piero is holding out for something closer to €2.5m a year.
The striker has slipped down the pecking order in recent seasons and his influence on the pitch is on the decline, and there was a point where it seemed Juve were willing to release him at the end of the season.
They have announced their intention to keep him now, though, although it seems a contract is still some way from being signed. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
