Di Francesco anticipates Roman return

Lecce coach Eusebio Di Francesco will return to the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday for the first time as a manager. Di Francesco played for Roma from 1997 to 2001 and even won a Serie A title with the Giallorossi.
Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, the former Roma midfielder delcared: “Returning to the Olimpico as a coach is a good feeling, I have wonderful memories.”
Di Francesco also spoke about his sides previous fixture at Cesena where he feels the poor playing surface the Stadio Dino Minuzzi caused problems for his side. “Certainly the synthetic field at Cesena is tough to play on. Our players picked up some injuries and that could change our position in the Serie A, but these things happen even to the best of teams.”
Roma will be without the services of their influential skipper Francesco Totti and this will be a welcomed by Di Francesco’s men with the Giallorossi coach praising the longstanding Roma legend. “He is an expert player, with four eyes and great footballing intelligence.” The absence of Totti may be seen as a boost to Lecce but Di Francesco also warned his players about taking too much heart from this. “His absence could represent an advantage for us, but Roma, is a very strong team and we have to stay focused.”
Roma have had a roller coaster start to the season and the returning favourite will be hoping that his players can pick up a few crucial points in Lecce’s battle to spend another season in top-flight football.
