Di Vaio pledges future to Bologna

Veteran striker Marco Di Vaio has announced that he wants to sign a new contract with Bologna. The 34-year-old has also said he wants to finish his career playing at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
Di Viao signed for the Rossoblu in 2008 on loan from Genoa and made his move permanent twelve months later. The ex Juventus front man has scored 46 goals in 83 games for Bologna and has found some of the best form of his career later on in his footballing life. Di Viao scored the second goal in last weekend’s important game against bottom club Bari; he said afterwards “The real goals are those that carry points. I like that mine are important. Malesani has shown us the way forward and we have been very good at following it.”
It is this form and the 11 goals in 19 games this term that have prompted Bologna to extend his stay. There had been links with a move away for the Roman born forward and this would not have been out of character. Di Viao has played for ten clubs so far in his illustrious career and these clubs include the likes of Lazio, Parma, Juventus, Valencia, Monaco and Genoa. It does look however, that in Di Viao’s case he has finally found home saying that “I can’t wait to sign the new contract. I want to end my career at Bologna.”
