Donadoni confident of Cagliari’s return to form

Roberto Donadoni arrived at Cagliari last week and immediately led his side to a vital victory over fellow stragglers Brescia. The ex Nazionale Coach believes that this is just the beginning and that the club seeks to improve in the coming weeks.
“Cagliari is a team that has a great scope for improvement, though one must never lose sight of the goal, that is to always be positive and constructive”, Donadoni told Corriere Dello Sport in an interview.
The Rossoblu had only won once in their previous ten games before the weekend visit to Brescia and as a consequence Coach Pierpaolo Bisoli was replaced. Donadoni managed to guide the team to an impressive victory in his first game in charge but he is not getting carried away by his successful start.
“The victory doesn’t really change much for us. We should look at it as an important point to begin rebuilding and learn more. It is easier when you win as certain things are absorbed better but even if you don’t, you need to tackle these things with the same spirit”.
The former Azzurri Coach also stated that he was enjoying his return to the league after being fired around the same time last year by Napoli. “Cagliari is a great opportunity. I’m not thinking about the past or the future. I live day to day and I care little about what you say or think of me”.
Donadoni also spoke of the changes in the league this season and shared his views on Inter, the Scudetto race as well as Ibrahimovic. “Inter need a bit of luck on the injury front. Benitez is a great manager and they will recover…. Milan have found enthusiasm and they also have a strong team. They are surely contenders for the title…. Ibra is a great player, he is a champion. I am happy that he has returned to the Italian league”.
Cagliari now take on Bologna and Lecce at home in the next two rounds and have a chance to extend their distance from the relegation battle below them. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
