Despite recent reported interest from Milan, Christian Eriksen has revealed he is happy to remain with Dutch giants Ajax.
The Rossoneri were thought to be preparing a €11m offer for the Denmark international, but the attacking midfielder has scuppered any chance of a transfer, confirming that he is not ready to move on at this stage of his career.
“Of course, Milan are a big club. However, Ajax are a big club as well in my opinion and I’m more than happy to stay in Amsterdam for now,” said the 18-year-old to Voetbal International.
“I always took one step at a time in Denmark and that was also the reason why I joined Ajax. You get the chance to develop into a better player at this club.”
Eriksen has developed into a key player for Ajax this season, scoring on two occasions and laying on a number of goals for team-mates.
Such form has not only alerted the attentions of Milan, with Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool all credited with an interest in Ajax’s number eight.
