Eto’o issues public apology for headbutt

Inter striker Samuel Eto’o has expressed his regret for head butting Chievo defender Bostjan Cesar during their match at the Stadio Bentegodi last Sunday. In a statement issued through the agency that manages his image, the Cameroonian lion has apologised to all the people shocked by his violent reaction.
“I want to offer my apologies to all the people involved in the incident in Verona last Sunday. I apologise to the referees who couldn’t see the foul because it was out of their visual area, but also to all Inter supporters and all the people who love football”.
The incident has cost Inter dearly as Eto’o has been suspended from playing the next three games of the Campionato, leaving his team with a major headache as they are already short on numbers because of a long injury list.
The ex-Barca man specially apologized to the club for the inconveniences caused by his gesture: “My apologies also go to my coach Rafael Benitez and to my team-mates. I ask forgiveness to my president Massimo Moratti, who has always trusted me”.
Curiously enough in his whole apology, Eto’o does not make any reference to Bostjan Cesar, the victim who Benitez believes provoked the striker in the first place. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
