Eto’o receives three-match ban and €30,000 fine for headbutt

Samuel Eto’o has been hit with a three-match ban for headbutting Bostjan Cesar in the game between Inter and Chievo this past Sunday. The Cameroonian will also be forced to pay a fine for €30,000 for his actions.
The Disciplinary Committee has come down hard on the Inter forward after he head-butted Cesar in the chest ala Zinedine Zidane in the 2006 World Cup Final. The referees missed the incident but after considering video evidence the suspension was handed out this morning.
For Inter this comes as a cruel blow as the team is struggling with injuries and Eto’os absence means their situation has worsened further. Diego Milito is out for two weeks while Coutinho may be out till the end of year leaving only Jonathan Biabiany and Goran Pandev as the available forwards for the weekend game with Parma.
Furthermore, Inter have relied on Eto’o for a chunk of their goals as the ex-Barca man has netted 18 times in 19 games so far this season. Benitez may thus be forced to rush Milito back into action sooner than he wanted. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
