Fiorentina quiet on Montolivo rumours

Riccardo Montolivo is the hot topic in Florence at the moment. As one of the top summer transfer targets in Italy his failure to have talks with his own club about signing a new contract has led to talk of his departure. Now Sinisa Mihajlovic has spoken out.
“Who wouldn’t want Montolivo?” Mihajlovic told Sky Sport Italia. “He has proved himself to be a great player and whatever decision he makes, I will respect it. If Montolivo does leave, then I’m sure he will be adequately replaced. I have faith in our director of sport Pantaleo Corvino to bring in the best alternative.”
This will come as a crushing blow to fans of La Viola who will find it hard to understand why no talks have been arranged to keep their captain at the club, and Montolivo has been linked with the Nerazzurri. The former Atalanta midfielder is under contract until 2012 but it is unlikely that Inter’s Marco Branca will wait until he becomes a free agent.
This is a move that will please his old team mate Giampaolo Pazzini who told Calcio Italia Magazine: “I’d love to play alongside Montolivo again. And not just because he’s a close friend of mine and we grew up together, but also because he’s a great midfielder who sets up a lot of goals.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
