Fiorentina sign Serbian stopper

Fiorentina coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has turned his attention towards his home country of Serbia to sign teenage defender Matija Nastasic from Partizan Belgrade. The 17-year-old is currently in Florence with a view to completing the switch ahead of the January transfer window.
Mihajlovic hasn’t got off to the best of starts since joining Fiorentina in the summer, but has moved swiftly to improve his squad with the signing of his countryman Nastasic. With Sebastien Frey out for the season with injury, La Viola are looking to backup their goalkeeping department.
A club statement read: “ACF Fiorentina communicate that the Serbian defender Matija Nastasic has arrived in Florence with his agent Nicola Damjanac to undergo medical tests during the course of the day.”
Nastasic’s career has barely begun at Partizan but his early promise has caught the attention of Mihajlovic. The details of the transfer remain undisclosed but it is expected to be concluded in the next couple of days.
Nastasic’s age means he may not immediately play a prominent part in Fiorentina’s season but the presence of a fellow Serb as his coach should be the factor that seals the transfer. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
