Fiorentina will not sell Gilardino

Fiorentina have acted swiftly to reports that they are willing to sell striker Alberto Gilardino by releasing a statement insisting their star is going nowhere.
The Italian international has reportedly captured the attentions of Serie A rivals Juventus in recent weeks, with a possible exchange for Amauri said to be in the offing.
Gilardino himself fuelled speculation even further towards the end of 2010 when he opted to change his agent – a decision which many thought signalled his intentions to seek pastures new.
But this afternoon La Viola reacted to these theories with a statement on the club’s official website stating they are unwilling to sell their striker.
“Seeing the continuous references in the Press regarding prospective deals on the transfer market relative to the footballer Alberto Gilardino, Fiorentina would like to communicate the absolute ‘unsellability’ of the player.
“The club intends to reassert itself again with the objective of growing and investing to improve the actual squad.”

The 28-year-old has forged himself a reputation as a prolific goalscorer in the Italian top flight having found the net on numerous occasions for Piacenza, Verona, Parma and AC Milan before making the €15 million switch to Florence in 2008. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
