Galliani: ‘I was surprised by Leonardo’s decision to quit Inter’

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has admitted he was surprised to see former Rossoneri Coach Leonardo quit from the Inter bench after being in-charge for hardly six months.
Galliani always shared a special relationship with Leonardo and was seen as one of his backers even when President Silvio Berlusconi criticised his coaching style while in charge of Milan during the 2009/10 season.
“I did not expect such a sudden good-bye to Inter from Leonardo. But, I always knew that he rather prefers to be a Director than a Coach. Are Inter in crisis? We need to remember that they are the reigning world champions.”
The topic of Milan’s transfer campaign came up and Galliani confessed that there was still room for more activity after the Rossoneri purchased Philippe Mexes and Taye Taiwo at the end of the season.
“Milan’s recruitment drive is not yet closed, it is yet ajar. Will Menez come? No, absolutely not.” Galliani’s last statement squashed reports that Roma’s Jeremy Menez would be joining the Diavolo shortly. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
