Alessandro Gamberini says Fiorentina are raring to go after the difficulties of season 2010/11.La Viola missed out on European qualification after finishing a disappointing ninth.
Their campaign was beset by a number of injuries to key players, including Stevan Jovetic, as well as a suspension to Adrian Mutu.
Speaking to Domenica Sportiva, Gamberini feels the team can put that behind them as they look to begin again: “This season we want to redeem ourselves and erase last season.
“However, it cannot accurately be judged because of the numerous injuries suffered and even the case of Mutu, who had a long stop. [Coach Sinisa] Mihajlovic certainly holds this opinion. We are ready to go again.”
Asked about the new arrivals at the club, the central defender feels they can play a big part of their season: “[Gianni] Munari and [Andrea] Lazzari are two excellent acquisitions who can certainly help us a lot.”
