Gasperini set to meet Inter officials

Inter’s new Coach Gianpiero Gasperini is set to meet with club officials today to discuss plans and market strategy with an official unveiling likely to follow in the coming couple of days.
Gasperini was confirmed as the Nerazzurri tactician last Friday after a long-winded search following Leonardo’s resignation to join French side Paris St. Germain as Director.
Inter President Massimo Moratti told Corriere Dello Sportthat he was impressed by Gasperini during their talks and insisted that he was not the second or third choice.
“He is a good, and not a second preference. He knows his job and is a very good Coach. I talked to him during the week and I was very impressed. I found him calm and not at all scared. He explained what he had in mind for the team and I immediately recognized that this is someone who knows football.”
Inter’s search for a new manager led them to many avenues including the likes of Marcelo Biesla, Andre Villas-Boas and Sinisa Mijhalovic, who all reportedly turned down the job for different reasons.
But Moratti, who will likely be present today when Gasperini meets with the club’s Techincal Director Marco Branca at the headquarters in Pinetina, says the former Genoa Coach was a familiar figure.
“We had crossed paths earlier when he was at Genoa. And he always made a good impression because we never had an easy game against the Rossoblu. Gasperini is one that has considerable experience.”
The Nerazzurri owner also went on to praise the qualities of his new Coach stating that he was impressed with his all-round work ethic and he felt sure he would fit in well with the Serpenti.
“He clearly understands how to control the team on the field. He works well during the week, ensuring everyone knows what to do during the game. I think he is enthusiastic and eager to begin this adventure. I am convinced that he will fit well in our working group and that the team will welcome him as you should.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
