Genoa attempt to halt Ranocchia Inter deal

Inter Milan’s hopes of taking Andrea Ranocchia to San Siro during the January transfer window could be scuppered by Genoa President Enrico Preziosi, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
It comes as no surprise that reigning Serie A champions Inter would like to add the central defender to their ranks having purchased 50 per cent of his rights during the summer.
The Nerazzurri had initially planned to bring the Italian international to the club next summer, but a recent spate of defensive injuries to Rafael Benitez’s squad have forced the management to have a rethink.
A meeting between Preziosi and his Inter counterpart Massimo Moratti is thought to be scheduled before Christmas, but hopes of the European champions acquiring their man before the end of the season appear to be fading.
Preziosi is said to be willing to part with Ranocchia’s services, but only for a fee of around €12 million – almost double what Inter paid for half of the player last summer.
The President has also stated on numerous occasions that is his intention to keep the player at his club until the end of the season at the very least.
The Blue and Blacks are tipped to ignore this statement however, with a €8 million offer said to be in the offing. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
